Yet another 6am…
May 9, 2007After a 9:30 wake-up call shook me from my slumber, Wednesday passed by like a dream. (Nothing to do with me sleeping at 6am, I swear!)
The noon-ish MCAC lunch progressed as usual (meaning that oh gawd I had to wear the blue cap again =P ), and we had a pleasing increase of 4 members to 11 people at the pre-screening turnout. The best thing about it was that only 3 of the total (me, Chris and Bernie) had come the previous Wednesday too… the other eight were all either ‘poached’ from Thursday sessions, or tempted into coming by random unidentified people!! (and Jules finally managed to turn up XD)
After a brief lunch (Owen actually bought prawn crackers from Grain Express and shared them around–we eventually launched into this discussion on how the freshest crackers are probably fried on Mons, Weds and Fris. Interesting…) around 9 of us set off together towards the JLC. On the way through the walkway outside the lounge I caught a glimpse of Alex and invited him over too >=D (he did come in the end lolz since the ELP program was kinda finished.)
We screened the first episode of a new anime, Seto no Hanayome, at 1pm–definitely a great watch for anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of lightness. ^_~ Hell, considering that it’s more comedy than war and terror and darkness, if I like it, no one wouldn’t =P Intensely hilarious–for me at any rate ^^
Moving on… socialising time ^^ Something that pleased me tremendously was how, looking out over the faces within our circle, I managed to recognise perhaps half the faces — which equated probably half of the active forum posters (and therefore 90% of the lunch-comers). Considering that we haven’t met up all that many times yet, this is very good for someone who has a poor memory for names and faces XD
Remembering Vu’s promising e-mail about a session ‘not as tacky as the last speed-meeting one’ (at the pain of ***’ing Tam and David), I was a little surprised when he started off with a re-enaction of the ’shoe’ game. I hadn’t played it the last time it came around though, so all was good. I got Zilla’s boot, and Stan came to return my sandal. None of us were strangers to each other, so it ended up in chatting about trivialities =D
After the shoe game was the human knot… another nice traditional party game that had us laughing and enjoying the show. Tam was busy taping away half of the time… I wonder if we’ll ever get to see what he recorded with that handphone of his?
My short 2-3pm break cultimated in a very sleepy me going for accounting group discussions… the following hour of frustration and franticness ended in us finally deciding upon the presentation style and me pre-emptorily volunteering to proofread, butcher, modify and smoothen the random scattered documents. Will have to send all the semi-finalised copy of our group presentation by Saturday afternoon so that we can do a 10pm meet-up to further discuss this issue… *groan*…
By the time 4pm rolled around, I was fit to be trussed… time pretty much passed by in a haze; I believe Stan and I continued to do our ETC assignments during that period of time… seems like the fervour of the previous night had managed to strain itself into today as well, since I rarely manage to get much done in the lounge (XD)… I think I talked to a few people about the 17th too… just don’t remember who… hmm… x.x
6-9pm was Jap class… tiredness caught up with me and I started making blunders all over the place *wince* not nice a’tall!! A pity I couldn’t fall to bed immediately upon returning to the flats… the cold walk from the Short Courses Centre back seemed to have revitalised my body, and while my rationality screamed at me to take a rest, I forged on with my stats paper and eventually got it done….
Attempted MYOB after that, but gave up around 2:30am because my brain was kinda dead. (Would have been weird for it not to, actually, considering that I only had 3.5 hours sleep in almost 40 hours…) …and that’s about it… *yawn*
