Manifest is Sept 14-16 — any takers?

May 24, 2007

Hi there boys and girls!! The Manifest is on again this year–can I hear some cheers going around? (umm, couldn’t get any more recent pix so… deal with it for now >.>)

As shared around during today’s MCAC lunch session, Manifest 2007 will be at Melbourne Uni (as usual), from September 14-16, and MCAC will be organising a syndicate to go. (Meaning, we definitely have the numbers to apply for a group discount! =D ) HOWEVER, our committee is currently waiting for answers from the Caulfield main as to whether we can get a further discount since we’re going as a club!! [QUOTE Manifest webpage: If you are part of an anime club, please check with your club president if your club is eligible for a Manifest membership discount.] So hold your horses and don’t sign up for it just yet ^_~

I am now calling all anime fans to join us (the MCAC forumers) on our Manifest excursion!! Le Catch: you have to be an MCAC member to join our syndicate =P Therefore if you aren’t a member yet, JOIN THE CLUB!!! There are definitely more gains than losses here: for one, you get to watch animes that you never knew existed; secondly, you get to borrow anime that you’ve been yearning for forever from our club library; for a third, you get to socialise with other anime fans (and I do mean SOCIALISE!!); as a fourth, hey it doesn’t cost that much, and you won’t be alone at Manifest or Doujicon or any other activity that we’re going to! lol and of course there are lots more advantages, such as marathons, opinion exchanges, a fun and vivacious bunch of people to hang out with, etc… there are just too many to list and so I won’t bother doing so =P

Anyway, back to the topic at hand: Manifest, and the MCAC syndicate.

For those who don’t know, in the current lexicon, a syndicate is a “group of 10 or more people”, and the syndicate price of $24 (per member) is equivalent to a full weekend membership (which is usually $27). Single-day memberships are $15 per person per day. Note though that these are EARLY REGISTRATION prices!!! Early registrations are what give you a cheaper going rate than door prices (Weekend: $40, Single-Day: $30) and they also earn you personalised membership badges =P

As additional information, if you volunteer with Manifest for that weekend for a length of time exceeding 5 hours, you’ll get a full refund from the organisers for your entire payment ^_~ Best of all is, you can choose preferences on where you want to volunteer at! So while it is not guaranteed that you can work where you want to, there is a high chance that you’ll find a volunteering space that you can be happy at.

Well, what are you waiting for? Ask me more questions now, or vote an indication of your interest level (and sign up for updates from me on the event) at the anime club’s poll:

See you there!!!
