Hi there. Can I overload; pretty please?

June 12, 2007

Got a reply from ask.monash regarding my query on Overloading. Hadn’t been able to add an extra subject to WES after the primary 4 for next sem were allocated, so… I mulled over “WHY am I doing this again?”, remembered, and got cracking.

After all, MKC + MGC + EIL + AFC1030 doesn’t seem like a full timetable to me. I mean… AFC1030? …Accounting…? And I really need to overload next semester, otherwise I’m in trouble for the years to come. I don’t really fancy coming to uni for a ninth semester to just do two subjects on a part-time basis. That’s just… gay.

So I chose to add on AFC2100. Only… that got me considering. If I am not going to do BTC with the double Ms because it will kill me, what is to say that double AFC’s won’t?

…Meh. I’ll live. After that phone call last night… and knowing what mom has to put up with daily… HELL I’D BETTER BE ABLE TO COPE!!! (lol. The women in my family are suckers for stress. We need it to survive. We also need to be involved in multiple activities at the same time to feel fulfilled. Just look at mom and che and yours truly. Doing just one thing… would kill us. Boredom. Sets. In. So. Fast. It’s. Crazy.)

Anyway, they referred me to the 2nd floor of the Menzies, where a Business and Economics info desk or something was. Since Commerce is technically my managing faculty and the subject I want to add on is Commerce-related… ah well. It sounds right?

So I headed over and talked to a guy at 9:15, 9:30am-ish? Got a form… *gasp* I actually have to tell them why I need to overload? Wow. Hard case >.< …and *wait for it, wait for it!* there’s no guarantee that I’ll succeed in my application… garn. Another “let’s wait and see”?

But hey, I still wanted to go ahead with it.

So I thought on it, sat on it, mulled on it, whatever-you-want-to-call-it on it, and then at 3pm, after lots of consultation (thanks Rodney! Referring to my course outline was totally the right thing to do) and some consideration as well as research, I popped back to the Menzies and handed in the form.

Yay.

Now to wait for the outcomes. Which is… sitting on tenterhooks-y.

Ouch… have to wait first until my results for this sem are announced… get the minimum-required Credit average… and then… rely on their kindness and goodness of heart to let me pass. (Meaning, see whether I pass muster and they consider my intended workload doable for someone with whatever-results I manage to get.)

Turning in early tonight… mmm need to. Brain is fried. Not fun at all.
